Dear Supporter:

When was the last time you opened your refrigerator and found no food? When was the last time you reached for the keys to your home and they could not be found? Was the refrigerator empty of food because you forgot or didn't have time to shop? Did you lose or misplace your keys temporarily? When you finish assessing the scenario cited above, consider the following:

There are more than 10,000 homeless people in Chicago communities that cannot relate to any decisions regarding food in their refrigerator or gaining access to their homes. In addition, many families you probably know are only one or two checks away from joining the ranks of the homeless.

Matthew House stands in the gap for the homeless and indigent in the Bronzeville and greater Grand Boulevard areas. Our organization is tax-exempt, not-for-profit, and community-based, providing daytime shelter and supportive services to needy men, women, and children. We are preparing to open our transitional living facility where 20 men can be housed for a maximum of 2 years while they gain control over their lives.

Everyone is bussing around getting ready for the holiday season. We ask that you take 15 minutes from your busy schedule to send a generous donation to Matthew House during this festive season. The holiday season is foremost in everyone's mind, but remember that Matthew House strives to help others help themselves on a daily basis.

Your support is important to us, and we look forward to a continued partnership in this community.

Sincerely,

Derrick David Stinson, Founder and President
